The distinction is practical: use raster for continuous photographic detail, and use vector for scalable structured graphics.

For organizations, vector images are not only a design preference; they are a practical asset management tool. If the logo exists only as a low-resolution PNG, every new use case can become a problem.

Vector graphics have become even more important as screens have diversified. Raster assets often require multiple size versions to stay sharp across these environments. SVG icons and vector-based interface elements can adapt more efficiently.

For accessibility and performance, SVG files can also be styled, compressed, animated, or manipulated with code, making them highly useful in modern development workflows.
